Cone Beam CT Technology is 3D computed tomography technology that provides extremely accurate imaging of the jaws and teeth at a fraction of the radiation dose used for medical CT scanning. With the latest state-of-the-art technology, we can get the best possible image with minimal exposure to radiation. This technology allows our doctors to come to a fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. This advanced and specialized x-ray equipment goes beyond the regular dental or facial x-rays to produce more detailed and accurate 3D images that include your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone.

Should your treatment plan require bone grafting or dental implants, cone beam CT technology allows Dr. Oettinger and Dr. Sulik to most effectively evaluate, plan for and predict your situation and surgery. Dental cone beam CT technology is often used for orthodontic treatment planning as well as the following:

  • Detecting and treating jaw tumors
  • Evaluating the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity
  • Accurate placement of dental implants
  • Surgery planning
  • Diagnosis of TMJ
  • Determing bone structur and tooth orientation
  • Reconstructive surgery

If you're experiencing dental pain and feel that you need prosthodontic dental care, we highly recommend that you consult first with your general dentist. We work closely with your general dentist to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will result in the achievement of your dental health goals.
